Iroise de la Noé: Winter meeting in doubt

Iroise de la Noé, the winner of the 2026 Prix de France, might not be seen during the winter meeting.

The mare trained by Thomas Levesque has established herself among the best in France over the last year and was among the favorites for the Prix d’Amérique, after an incredible victory in the Prix de Belgique. An unfortunate break at the start of the Prix d’Amérique put a halt to those dreams, but she bounced back with a 1’09’’4 over 2100m in the Prix de France.

She hasn’t raced since April 18, when she finished seventh in the Prix de l’Atlantique, but was supposed to make her comeback in the group 2 Grand Prix du Sud-Ouest at Toulouse on October 21.

Her trainer explained the situation to Paris-Turf:

“My mare has unfortunately had a slight tendon problem that could jeopardize her winter season. For now, I can't say what will happen with her in the coming weeks. One thing is certain: she will only participate in the winter meeting if she is fit enough to compete in the Prix d'Amérique and the Prix de France with a real chance. If not, then we will wait until next winter.”
