Borups Victory returns after four-month break
Borups Victory has established himself as one of Sweden’s biggest stars in recent years, winning eight group 1 races and finishing on the podium in some of the biggest races in Sweden and France.
The eight-year-old is now set to return to racing after a four-month break. He was last seen in the Oslo Grand Prix on June 14, where he beat Epic Kronos. He will return in the Gävle Stora Pris on October 17 at 16:06, facing the likes of High On Pepper, Competivo, Bengan and Caviar From Mine over 2640m (autostart).
Borups Victory’s eight group 1 victories include the most recent Oslo Grand Prix, Hugo Åbergs Memorial, Paralympiatravet, two consecutive wins in the Kymi Grand Prix, and three consecutive victories in the Seinäjoki Race from 2024 to 2026.
His trainer, Daniel Wäjersten, has announced that the focus is on the 2027 Prix d’Amérique after his horse missed the 2026 edition due to health issues.
Borups Victory has already shown his capabilities at Vincennes and was expected to be one of the favorites for the 2026 Prix d’Amérique after finishing third in the Prix de Bretagne and fifth in the Prix de Bourbonnais. His race program leading up to the 2027 edition has yet to be announced.
Several Swedish horses are hoping to represent their country at the highest level in France this winter. Among them are Epic Kronos, Dream Mine, Jobspost and Phantom Express.
